Rapidly Issued Patent As a Key Asset for Investors

A start-up had a PCT (international) patent application with a favorable examination from the international bureau. The client was also seeking of investment money to fund a production run.

GMI used the USPTO’s Patent Prosecution Highway program, which allows US patent applications to “move to the front of the line” for examination if there’s a positive PCT report. Prosecution and issuance of the US application was completed in months, rather than several years.
