Opportunity

A longtime GMI client, a quintessential serial entrepreneur, had an invention idea and a specific target licensee. Prototyping the invention would be difficult and time consuming, but she wanted to make a pitch to sell it.

Result

Using photos of a crude mock-up of the invention, GMI had patent drawings made from one of its highly experienced and adept patent illustrators. The drawings did double duty: they were used for a provisional application GMI filed, and also as the primary graphics to show the invention in her slide deck presentation (and other materials) presented to the target licensee.

Advantages

The client went into the meeting both patent-pending, and with highly professional, fully detailed illustrations of the invention. Preparing the patent application with the client also allowed her to further flesh-out product details and alternate versions.
